Jay Hershberger debut release: all-Liszt album

Pianist Jay Hershberger, Associate Professor of piano at Concordia College and internationally-recognized specialist in the piano music of Franz Liszt, recently released his debut CD, titled "Transfigured Shadows: Select Piano Works of Franz Liszt."

The piano music of Franz Liszt has never been surpassed for dazzling virtuosity. Liszt, a fascinatingly complex man, was not only the greatest pianist of his time, but also an influential composer and conductor. Many of his compositions reflect his phenomenal technique, and still tax the best of pianists. His contemporary, Anton Rubenstein, also a virtuoso pianist, observed that compared with Liszt all other pianists were 'children.'
